Because of its mainly black fur, you can tell right away that this Indri comes from the north of Madagascar. That’s because its cousins, who live further south of the island, tend to be white in colour. But they all have thick fur and cute, round, shining eyes. We mustn’t forget to mention its cutest feature: its large, bushy ears. What a cute guy!
The black and white Indri opens its yellow button eyes attentively and listens intently. It sits on all fours and waits for its turn. The Indris’ famous morning songs in Madagascar have just begun. Of course it wants to join in! Every morning, the friends sing beautiful, melodic songs. They can be heard up to two kilometres away. They enjoy singing. They also use song to mark their territory and communicate with each other. Shh, the concert is about to start!
