The
snow leopard has a light grey coat with black rosettes, just like the
intricately painted snow leopard from Schleich® Wild Life.
The
snow leopard is a large cat that lives in the high rocky mountains of
Central Asia. It feeds mainly on sheep, ibex and goats. Thick fur
protects it against freezing cold temperatures but its beauty means that
many animals fall prey to poachers. That’s why the snow leopard is an
endangered species. A special feature is its tail which, like the snow
leopard from Schleich® Wild Life, is nearly as long as its body.
Fun Fact
The snow leopard uses its long, bushy tail as a rudder when jumping and also to protect against the cold.
